Strings for a Cure!

A few weeks ago, I announced that throughout what remains of December, I will be accepting your suggestions for worthy local and national charities (you can read the original article here.) Send a simple note to me at cVaillancourt@ErieReader.com, along with your contact information, and I will post a short entry in the Erie Reader "Bloggery" informing Reader readers exactly what they can do to help!

Last week, one of Erie's favorite guitarists, Eric Brewer, chipped in with some info on this local charity run by Elisa Guida.

"Elisa is a two-time breast cancer survivor herself and has more energy and drive than most of us who are healthy. She and her group deserve a shout-out!  She uses both local and national guitarists' strings to make awesome jewelry to sell, then donates the proceeds to women undergoing breast cancer treatment in the form of gift cards for gas, groceries, day care, whatever they need. I donate my own strings to her cause, and luckily enough, my string jewelry made by Elisa actually sells, haha!"
