Roar Overview ROAR ON THE SHORE® 2019 Expected to draw more than 165,000 motorcycle enthusiasts from across the United States and Canada in 2019, Roar on the Shore® Bike Week has exploded on the national rally scene and has experienced unprecedented growth in its first 12 years. This unique event boasts no gate entrance fee, offers free headline concerts every night as well as 6 scenic rides (including an amazing celebrity-led parade of bikes) to showcase all the Erie region offers! ALL FOR A GOOD CAUSE Each year the Roar on the Shore® Board of Directors selects a designated charity from an exceptional list of nonprofit service organizations. This year, proceeds from the 2019 Roar on the Shore® Bike Week will benefit the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Erie County's (NAMI) Homefront program. To be launched next year (2019) in Erie, NAMI Homefront is a free, educational program for families, caregivers and friends of military service members and veterans with mental health conditions. Based on the nationally recognized NAMI Family-to-Family program, NAMI Homefront is designed to address the unique needs of family, caregivers and friends of those who have served or are currently serving our country. The program is taught by trained family members of veterans living with mental health conditions. To date, through your generosity, Roar on the Shore® has raised and donated $920,000 to charitable organizations, including Shriners Hospitals for Children, SafeNet, Erie Homes for Children and Adults, St. Martin Center, Mercy Center for Women and the Sarah A. Reed Children's Center, just to name a few. ONE OF THE LARGEST MOTORCYCLE PARADES IN THE UNITED STATES The number-one Roar® event is the annual Bringin' in the Roar® Parade that attracts 5,000 bikers who form a 7-mile long escorted parade in front of more than 25,000 spectators. The 2018 Grand Marshal Rick Harrison of "Pawn Stars" fame made the following statement immediately after last year's spectacular parade: "WOW! I KNEW THIS EVENT WAS BIG, BUT I HAD NO IDEA HOW BIG! THAT WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!" FOUR HEADLINE CONCERTS — FOUR NIGHTS — ONE PLACE Roar on the Shore® Bike Week is home to some of the best music in the country. From local, home-grown bands and up-and-coming regional acts to full-blown national concerts, Roar® has it all and it's just for you! (Please note: All headline concerts are free of charge in the general viewing area.) VENDOR ALLEY More than 100 national, state, regional and local vendors make up the famous "vendor alley" where the slogan "If you can't find it here, you can't find it anywhere." sets the tone for an exceptional experience where you can immerse yourself into an endless offering of motorcycle merchandise, products and services all within a short walking distance. TAKE A RIDE Roar® offers 7 incredible rides featuring some of the most breathtaking scenic landscapes in this part of the country. Each ride features a unique experience. You will enjoy some of the best wineries, microbrews and restaurants in the region. The Beer for the Deer Legend Ride takes you through western New York to Pine Junction, one of the area's most popular restaurants. The Vineyards Poker Run showcases 4 amazing wineries where you can sample our region's finest wines. The ever-popular Roar® to the Microbrews Dice Run needs no description, but be assured, you'll enjoy this tour of regional brews.
