134th Annual Erie County Fair a Weeklong, Fun-Filled Affair

Monday, Aug. 27 – Saturday, Sept. 1

The 134th annual Erie County Fair will feature plenty of food and fun every day of the weeklong celebration.

The festivities kick off Monday, Aug. 27 and continue through Saturday, Sept. 1 with a variety of family friendly entertainment.

"We try to do something for everybody," said Junior Hartner, longtime fair board president.

On Thursday evening, cowboys will compete in a rodeo. Friday evening, crowds can watch truck pulls. The fair finishes Saturday with its popular WNY Pro Pulling Series Smokin' Tractors & Truck Pulls.

The fair board was unable to secure a big-name musical act this year. Hartner says it wasn't profitable, but local musical groups will be featured instead at the gazebo.

Other daily events include a circus and a BMX bike show.

Daily fair admission is $8 per person, which includes parking, rides, and grandstand events, except for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

Children age 5 and under enter for free without rides or grandstand entrance. Weekly buttons can be purchased for $10 without riding. Ride upgrades are $5 per day. — Tracy Geibel
