Edinboro's Art 100 documentary will make its Erie debut at the Bourbon Barrel on Nov. 13 before making its way to L.A. for its West Coast premiere later this month.

Wednesday, Nov. 13

For the last century, Edinboro University has been one of the region's leading art programs. They have educated students who have gone on to be successful artists in both domestic and international markets. The program is competitive on a national level in terms of affordability, sustainability in a changing economy, and quality of graduates.

The art department has been celebrating its centennial with exhibits and shows popping up throughout the academic year. One of the centerpieces of the more-than-yearlong event is the film Art 100, produced by Erie-based MenajErie Studio.

The documentary, which premiered at Edinboro last month, features dozens of art alumni, faculty and staff, both retired and active. It is a comprehensive and artistic display of what the Edinboro art program was throughout the past century, what it is today, and where the program is going in the future.

Art 100 is the latest feature in the ongoing Film Grain series at the Bourbon Barrel. The proceeds of this showing benefit the Film Society of Northwest Pennsylvania, a nonprofit organization.

Following its Erie showcase, MenajErie will take the documentary to Los Angeles for its West Coast premiere later this month. — Hannah McDonald
