Celebrate 31 Years of Rhythm at the 2026 Erie Blues and Jazz Festival
Two days of world-class music, local flavor, and community await in one of Erie's favorite summer traditions

For 31 years, the Erie Blues and Jazz Festival (a perennial winner of Best Music Festival in our Best of Erie awards) has transformed Frontier Park into a hub for music, the arts, and community. Returning Saturday, Aug. 1, and Sunday, Aug. 2, the Festival once again invites audiences to enjoy an eclectic mix of blues, jazz, soul, funk, and fusion performances against one of the city's most scenic backdrops.
"This year's festival brings an incredible mix of elite national, regional and local intense energy to our three stages," Festival Producer Maria Gangemi (Erie's 40 Under 40 Class of 2020) shares. Saturday will feature (among others) performances from The Duke Sherman Band, whose guitar-driven blues channels classic American music, acclaimed guitarist Wayne Baker Brooks and his signature Chicago sound, and rising vocalist Dylan Triplett, whose powerful voice evokes the golden age of soul and R&B.
Sunday is set to continue the momentum with groups like the Erie Phil Jazz Ensemble showcasing their regional talent, as well as headliner The Lao Tizer Band, a well-recognized fusion group known for combining contemporary jazz elements with funk, world music, and altogether infectious grooves.
"For over 33 years, the Erie Blues and Jazz Festival has anchored our region's summer arts season as a true community equalizer. Beyond the stage, attendees can look forward to a "diverse mix of local food vendors, artisans, and community organizations" while enjoying the relaxed atmosphere that has earned the event a reputation as one of Erie's signature summer gatherings.
If you've never been to the festival before, expect "an immersive community celebration that feels like a massive neighborhood party, despite hosting a multi-thousand-person audience," Gangemi says. "It is a completely family-oriented experience that encompasses dedicated spaces offering interactive arts and activities for children, all set within a welcoming and relaxed crowd."
Admission for the Erie Blues and Jazz Festival remains free, with organizers suggesting a $25 donation for adults to help sustain the festival's mission and future programming. As a thank-you, donors receive a limited-edition festival button commemorating the event.
