Fall for LEAF Open Markets

Deals might just blow you away

There are more than 1,000 trees at the Lake Erie Arboretum at Frontier Park (LEAF). Imagine you had to rake up all those leaves this autumn — afterward, would Frontier's deciduous denizens still be standing, or wood you have lumbered on home?

Thankfully for both the trees and your lumbar, the only thing you'll be raking in at Frontier Park in the coming months is deals. LEAF's Open Market will return to West Eighth and Seminole on September 12 from 9 a.m. to noon with a fine selection of local produce, fresh bread, herbs, plants, oils and vinegars, baked goods, and more. Swing by with your mask on and partake in a bountiful harvest of regionally produced goods to either enjoy now or stow away for the winter.

Participating vendors will include:

  • No Dirt Farms
  • Majestic Baking Company
  • Buona Cucina Oils and More
  • Post Apples
  • Blooming Valley Farms
  • Rahal Farms
  • Allburn Florist
  • Ember + Forge
  • Cafe 7-10
  • Sundae
  • Honey by Connie Walker
  • PopLuck Gourmet Popcorn
  • The Juice Jar

If you miss this week's Open Market, there are rustlings of another in October. The date has yet to be announced, but we'll see what blows our way.

Matt Swanseger (mswanseger@eriereader.com) is unabashedly basic and loves fall, a pumpkin spice lot-ay.
