Chef Bruno Breillet preparared this sweet garlic and tarragon chicken, miso glazed chicory, with a mustard and tarragon cream chicken as a main course offered in the seven course meal available through TIpsy Bean and Give a Crepe

Parlez-vous français?

Even if you don't speak French, those familiar with France's culinary tradition would tell you it's well worth your while to eat French, as it is one of the most influential cuisines in the Western world. You just need an experienced chef to teach the tongue. Chef Bruno Breillet will be on hand from Aug. 16 though the 28.

So allow us to brioche a more appropriate question — Qu'est-ce qui est offert pour diner? This Friday evening, renowned and wide-ranging chef Bruno Breillet will answer all your most pressing cravings when he takes over the Tipsy Bean kitchen. Presented in collaboration with Give A Crepe, the French Summer Dinner will feature a melange of traditional and chef-created dishes that will have you saying oui, oui, oui all the way home.

The seven-course meal costs $60 per guest and will consist of the following:

  1. Pissaladiere — smothered onions, anchovies, olives, herbes de Provence, olive oil, on a pillowy pizza dough
  2. Apricot, Rosemary, and Goat Cheese Tortelette
  3. Fresh Green Salad
  4. Mustard and Tarragon Cream Chicken
  5. Ratatouille Niçoise — eggplants, onions, zucchini, peppers, tomatoes, olive oil, garlic
  6. Cherry and Peach Pistachio Frangipane Tart with Homemade Lemon Verbena Ice Cream
  7. Soft Shortbread Peach Rolls (lightly scented with verbena)

Already have dinner plans Friday? Rather skip to dessert instead? Although Chef Breillet is plenty versed in savory (running culinary workshops and supper clubs in France, the US, and the UK), sweet is his specialty. If you're a lover of the sucré, consider yourself a choux-in for a Taste of Paris Pastry of Box, available for order and pick-up at the Tipsy Bean on Aug. 17, 23, and 25, with pastries available that the August Shops on The Hill Artisan Flea Aug. 28.

At a cost of $30, each box will contain four elegant and tantalizing French pastries. The inclusions will vary throughout Chef Breillet's 12-day stay, so check back on the Tipsy Bean's Facebook page for updates.

The Taste of Paris Pastry box lineup v 1.0

  1. Bakewell Tart
  2. Sticky Toffee Pudding
  3. Walnut Coffee Cake
  4. Passionfruit-lemon Drizzeloaf

Bon appétit, Erie!

Dinner Friday at 7 p.m., Taste of Paris Pastry boxes available through Sunday, Aug. 17, 23, and 25, with pastries available that the August Shops on The Hill Artisan Flea Aug. 28 // 2425 Peach St. //  Dinner $60, Pastry Boxes $30 // Order in-person or online at tipsybean.cafe
