Marion Olivieri

The Giovanni Mazzotti Anatomy Conference is in its ninth year but was held for the first time this summer at Gannon University. Walter Iwanenko, Ph.D., Gannon's vice president for academic affairs, helped to facilitate the partnership between the conference and Chartered Professors LLC, an organization of academics that provides international educational experiences for students at a variety of levels, including adults returning to school.

"We're good teachers, that's what we are," said Olivieri about the organization, based in Buffalo, N.Y. Teachers who work with Chartered Professors all hold doctorates in S.T.E.M. (science, technology, engineering or math) fields, she said.

The group is also involved in educational tourism and is working to arrange a trip for Americans to Florence to study the history of medicine, she said.
