On Sunday, June 21st, at approximately 6:50 PM a Glenwood Park resident discovered a noose hanging from a tree at the end of Mill Creek behind Alfee's Pizza. Upon further exploring the area, the resident accompanied by some friends discovered graffiti consisting of several concerning images; including a swastika, racial slurs, threats, and a spot painted on the ground near where the noose had been hung – as if it were a "marked standing position" someone commented. In addition to these findings, was a line of broken glass mixed with cat litter and feces; which – someone on-site remarked – is typically a sign of someone making shivs. The noose was cut down. Residents (who wished to remain nameless) informed us that these displays had not been there two days prior.
