Parade Your Pet, Hollywood Style

There will be prizes awarded for most original costume, best pet & owner look-alike, and best-themed costume

by Maddie Dufala June 19, 2019 at 12:00 PM

Saturday, Jun. 22

If you consider yourself an animal lover who is keen on helping out shelters and having fun at the same time, then the first annual Pet Parade in the Park could be right up your alley. The North East Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the first Pet Parade in the Park benefiting The ANNA Shelter. The Pet Parade is a themed parade – the inaugural theme is "Hollywood movies." There will be prizes awarded for most original costume, best pet & owner look-alike, and best-themed costume. Don't think you'll miss out just because you may not have a costume, though: themed costumes are encouraged but not required and the goal of the day is to show off your pets while benefiting a great cause. There will be a variety of vendors, cute animals strutting their stuff, and other enjoyable activities. The forms for pet and vendor registration can be accessed online, along with the schedule. The only requirements for pets are that all pets must be on a leash, female pets in heat are not allowed, and pet owners are responsible for all pet waste (receptacles are provided). Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult 18-years-old or older. — Madeline Dufala
