The holiday season can sometimes be a stressful time of year, but with the help of Purple Haze Promotions you can escape from the bad vibes and get down at their "Happy Holidaze" event at Basement Transmissions.

Purple Haze co-founder Andra Cioca said, "This is going to be our premier event. We put in a lot of hard work and time to make this special … it is all about local art and underground music from artists that often don't get the chance to showcase their work in the area."

This one-of-a-kind holiday shindig will have a little bit of everything for participants to partake in. There will be a wide variety of live music provided by local EDM artists DJC Dubz, Ozztin, Omenz, as well as the up-and-coming Fresco and Yeshuwa, who will provide the hip-hop and groovy atmosphere for the evening. The headliner, Sweet Bois, come from Buffalo, N.Y. and will give the crowd a taste of what their rave scene is like back home.

As the music plays, live glass blowing by Dom Greco Glass and Bashglass will heat up the night. Live painter AbstractClairvoyance (Lexi Roberts) will produce a beautiful work of art in real-time. Artists like Kaitlyn Page will have their art for sale, along with a multitude of local vendors, such as Krazyfingerscrafts, Hectic Traveler, and many more. This is definitely a clever and fun way to shop for those last-minute Christmas gifts.

The most important and special aspect of the event, according to Cioca, is giving back to the community with the canned food drive. With every canned good that is brought to the event, you earn one raffle ticket towards winning a gift basket. So the more you bring, the better chance you have to win, plus you help support a good cause at the same time.

So break free of the holiday stress and shake off that winter chill at one of the greatest Christmas parties in town. — Symoné Crockett
