The Clarks Play 8 Great Tuesdays

Week 6 of 8 promises performances by The Clarks and Matty B and the Dirty Pickles

Tuesday, Aug. 6

We're more than halfway through this summer's 8 Great Tuesdays lineup down at the Highmark Amphitheater at Liberty Park, and week six presents The Clarks with openers Matty B and the Dirty Pickles.

The Clarks hail from Indiana, PA, and boast an extensive back-catalog of albums including Let it Go, Strikes and Gutters, and Feathers and Bones. Their latest album, Madly in Love at the End of the World, offers up 11 new tracks and was recorded in a converted A-frame church — an apt location for these new tunes which blend tales of love, loss, mourning, and ponder the bigger questions about life. However, don't expect their upcoming performance to be entirely introspective and existential. The band's forte is upbeat country, rock, and alt-country music, which is certain to get a toe or two tapping during the set.

Openers Matty B and the Dirty Pickles will showcase an expanded lineup and stage show. Blending the high-energy rockabilly they've been known for, the band will perform a Rock and Roll and Rhythm & Blues tribute set.

Catch both bands outdoors on a gorgeous summer night, and enjoy the beauty of their music right down on the water. — Miriam Lamey
