Rockstead is one of four reggae or reggae-adjacent bands coming to Basement Transmissions on Friday for their Cool Runnings Reggae Bash. Warm up to the sounds of local and regional music, in this post-holiday celebration of all things reggae.

FRIDAY, DEC. 27

The Cool Runnings Reggae Bash will be held at Basement Transmissions on Friday, featuring performances from Erie's own Higher Vibration, a popular trio that blends metal influences with reggae rock. Along with them, Land of Panda, hailing from Akron, Ohio, combining elements of psych, punk, and ska within a reggae rock framework. Rockstead, known for their energetic reggae rock sound that also incorporates metal influences, coming from Cincinnati, and Big Blitz from Pittsburgh, who performs as a dynamic drum and saxophone trio that delivers an outstanding live performance. While their style may not strictly fall under the reggae category, their talent and energy have earned them a spot in this lineup.

Despite being based in different cities and states, Derek Sloppy of Higher Vibration says that all of the bands participating in this event share a strong camaraderie, making an effort to reunite for shows at Basement Transmissions whenever schedules allow. These gatherings are always enjoyable, filled with positive energy and a sense of community. This event is particularly significant as it marks Higher Vibration's return following a hiatus, and coincides with the first night of a two-day performance collaboration by Land of Panda and Rockstead, promising an uplifting atmosphere.
