The Fifth Annual 14th Fest
EMTA kicks off summer events with annual bash
THURSDAY, JUN. 11
The Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority (EMTA) has teamed up with the Erie Downtown Partnership to present their fifth annual 14th Fest, celebrating the start of summer and all that Downtown Erie has to offer in the summer months.
"EMTA is excited to continue our 14th Fest tradition for the fifth year in a row," said EMTA CEO Jeremy Peterson. "It has been an energetic opening to the summer, with local vendors and entertainment, shining a light on what we do in mid-city."
As the name implies, the celebration will be held on 14th Street between French and Holland Streets, near EMTA's operations facilities. "It's a very unique location," said Sarah Morrison, director of marketing and public relations at EMTA. "Not many events shift focus from the Perry Square area, and we've made strides in the years EMTA has invested in the neighborhood."
The fest is a family-friendly event with free admission and open to the public. Music by local bands Geek Army and Twisted Lid will feature throughout the event, with food vendors on site including Odis 12, Kona Ice, Lavery Brewing, The BrewErie, and more.
EMTA will also be celebrating their 60th year in operation and recognizing employees that have been with the company for 20 years in a brief ceremony at the start of the event. "Each year we've had the opportunity to add an element that makes it unique," said Morrison. "This year's ceremony ties back to the mural we had completed at the 2023 fest, featuring some of our first operators, dedicated to our staff of past, present, and future."
Parking will be available on the surrounding streets and in parking lots in the area, but attendees are encouraged to consider using the bus system, with easy access through the myStop app to find the best route.
