Catch the final performance in Goodell Gardens and Homestead’s Music of Origins series, featuring Three Way Street. The goal of these live music events is to “celebrate the county’s cultural and musical heritage through live performances, storytelling, and community gatherings.”

FRIDAY, AUG. 21

Sweet summertime! June and July were just practice, but August is to be savored. If you can already faintly hear school bells and see Halloween items hitting the shelves, settle on down in your lawn chair to savor one last concert from the Music of Origin Series – the final event of the season will be Aug. 21 on the beautiful grounds of Goodell Gardens and Homestead.

Inviting folks to experience "the sounds that shaped our region," these free concerts celebrate the county's cultural and musical heritage through live performances, storytelling, and community gatherings. Three Way Street will be the group playing for this month. Brittney Skrzypczak, events and outreach manager for Goodell Gardens and Homestead, said the event explores the connections between geography, migration, and music – from regional folk traditions and Appalachian influences to blues rhythms shaped by the Great Migration and global sounds that continue to influence our community today.

In addition to the music in the gardens, attendees can enjoy a "Night Market" with various local farmers market vendors and a children's area with hands-on activities. Some of the lineup includes Steel Toe Farm, Hurry Hill Maple Farm, live demonstrations from Slow Formations, Weeping Willow Farmette, and Vanco Family Farm. Guests are encouraged to bring picnic style food and beverages, as food trucks will not be on site for this year's concert.

Skrzypczak extended a special thank you to the Erie Community Foundation and the Erie County Gaming and Revenue Association, whose generosity makes the concert free and accessible to the community. She noted that this is the 20th year for the event. That's practically O.G. status, so park it and enjoy – and see you next month for fall fests and events.

Gates open at 5 p.m., music from 6 to 8 p.m. // Goodell Gardens and Homestead, 221 Waterford St. (Route 6N), Edinboro // Free // For more information, visit: goodellgardens.org or call 814-734-6699
