The Film and New Media Dinner Party showcases local innovators

Uniting the Community of New Media Creatives with Economic Development. The Greater Erie Film Office, we would like to invite you to our first annual Film & New Media Dinner Party. In an effort to continue the growth of our blooming film community, we have taken on the task of bringing together all of the regions filmmakers, studios, actors, and vendors to celebrate their hard work and achievements over the past year. We will also be inviting a number of local business owners, entrepreneurs, and politicians who would benefit from seeing the artistic and financial impact a high-functioning film industry would have operating in Erie. Don't get the wrong idea though; this is a night for the filmmakers. Since the film offices inception in 2013, we have had the privilege to work with many talented individuals, and while many of them all know each other, we would like to create an event where everyone can officially meet and where we can recognize their skills at work. We will start the evening with top shelf drinks in the beautiful Hemingway Ballroom followed by an exquisite meal provided by the Ambassador's head chef. We are also bringing in some of the areas cutting edge film and new media resources for all experience including:Greater Erie Arts Rental from Penn State Behrend with 4K cameras on display to try out. Slow-Mo Video Booth for fun group keepsakes, brought to you by R.Frank Photography. Oculus Rift VR Gaming Development presented by Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Augmented Reality Experience. By hosting this event we hope to accomplish a number of tasks: Spread our mission of providing assistance, support, and education for regional film production. Honor 40 local professional and amateur filmmakers and cast a light on their achievements. Present a special award and thank you to five hand-picked filmmakers who have had a large impact on the initiative of a fully-functioning film industry. Facilitate a friendly networking event where Erie's creatives and filmmakers can meet potential clients, collaborators, and friends. Announce the winner of our 2017 Short Film Contest and award them their cash prize and recognition.
