Continue to Power the Tower - WXCS Community Radio Station Fundraiser

Sunday, February 16, 2020 from 5 PM to 8 PM

NEWS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE PUBLICATION…………….. The Cambridge Community Radio Association is a private, not for profit organization that has been providing the local area with the community radio station, WXCS FM 92.9 for 15 years. WXCS is operated and run by volunteers and depends on donations, fundraising and organizational contributions to be able to provide local radio to the community. WXCS is in need of financial support to repair its transmitter and help with other maintenance and operational costs to continue to be able to be on the air. Early this winter, the transmission section of the broadcast facility suffered a major setback. On Sunday, February 16th, the Cambridge Community Radio Association is conducting its "Help Us Continue to Power the Tower!" fundraiser and 2020 Membership Drive at the Riverside Brewing Company located at 1 Fountain Street in Cambridge Springs . The event runs from 5pm until 8pm and will feature live music including WXCS Radio Orchestra with special guests, Salmon Frank, The Vamplifiers and Justin Moyar. There will be a 50/50, Chinese auction, tee shirt sale, membership donation drive and more. In addition to fun and live music, there will be the presentation of the 2020 Ken Vaughn Award to honor an outstanding volunteer. The event is free and open to the public and support from the community is appreciated. WXCS is located locally on the dial at 92.9 FM or online at www.wxcs.org.
