Free to our community! Walk-ins are welcome, but please RSVP if possible. About this Event Please join us for a free workshop to learn how to create unique, rustic birdhouses made from license plates. We will also create chile pepper ristras, and autumn wreaths! Location: The grassy lots on East 5th Street between Parade and Wallace. Craft projects are designed for ages 6+, but all ages welcome! While you craft, talk with neighbors and share ideas for the future of these empty lots. There is a limited amount of supplies for the birdhouse, so this workshop is first come, first serve! About: As part of Erie Arts & Culture's Creating with Community artist residency program, artists Stephanie Ciner (Agriculturalist) and Armando Reyes (Woodworker/Musician) are currently working with Bayfront East Side Taskforce to coordinate and implement placemaking initiatives that activate several vacant lots in their service area. This initiative, which builds the capacity of Erie-based artists by positioning them to serve as leaders within the community, was funded through the support of Erie Insurance and the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development's Neighborhood Assistance Program.
