Lecture with JES Scholar-in-Residence Baher Ghosheh, Ph.D. Admission: $10/person or $15 with a guest, Erie County students are FREE More than thirty years after the Peace Process was launched and the Oslo Accords were signed, peace in the Middle East is as elusive as ever. Israelis and Palestinians have not even attempted to negotiate in years. Israel's unity government has agreed not to pursue any negotiations for fear of collapse of the fragile coalition government. The Palestinian Authority has no credibility among most Palestinians and the situation on the ground is very tense. Jewish settlements continue to swallow more of the West Bank and Israel's policies in the Occupied Territories have been condemned by the UN as Apartheid policies. The Biden administration renewed America's commitment to the Two State solution. Is Peace still possible? What would it look like? We will discuss the situation in light on regional and international changes that might five a glimmer of hope that peace might finally come to the Holy Land.
