The show is dedicated to Lori and Lee Steadman, a local couple immersed in Erie's arts and culture. Lee Steadman captures his love of the outdoors in watercolor and his artwork is displayed in public, private and university galleries around the United States, including the Frick Museum of Fine Art, Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, New York State Museum and the Erie Art Museum. His illustrations have been published by National Geographic, the Smithsonian Institution Press and even books by children's television personality Fred Rogers. Lee was the director of BLOOM Collaborative at Stairways Behavioral Health in Erie, PA where he used a holistic approach to wellness recognizing the healing power of creativity, mindfulness, and the arts. A member of numerous local and state art and nature organizations, he received the 2020 Lifetime Achievement Award given by the Erie Arts and Culture. Lori Steadman has been involved with the arts since her childhood, obtained a degree in graphics and photography from Edinboro University and subsequently worked as a commercial photographer. She has shared her passion for art by teaching students through the Arts Council of Erie and currently serves as the Director of Gannon University's Schuster Program for the Arts. Lori's responsibilities include curating exhibitions at the Schuster Gallery and directing the Patron Art Scholarships. We are celebrating this well-known local couple at the opening reception of the two-weekend joint art show and sale at The Woman's Club of Erie, 259 West Sixth Street, Erie, PA on Friday, September 30, 2022 from 5-9 pm. There is a $5 Admission Fee for this event. The opening reception will feature wine tasting, appetizers, and chocolate as well as musical entertainment.
