Wuji, an immigrant from Eritrea who has called Erie home since 2001, is an involved community member and aspiring entrepreneur. She is fluent in three languages and brings a friendly, knowledgeable presence, making her the perfect host for this community exploration. Together, you will visit a handful of local businesses—some established, some new—that showcase the rich cultural diversity of our city. You will have the chance to learn about their journeys, shop for unique products, and support local entrepreneurs while enjoying a rich cultural experience.
Tour Details:
Morning Dates (10 AM-12 PM): June 1, July 13, August 3, September 7
Evening Dates (3-5 PM): July 20, August 17, September 21
Duration: Approximately 2 hours
Locations: We will visit markets such as Almadina Supermarket, Europa Delicatessen, Fadak International Food Market, UK Supermarket, and more!
What to Expect: A mix of short walking and driving, engaging with store owners, learning about their cultures, and the opportunity to shop. Each tour ends at a New American restaurant for those who wish to stay for a meal.
