Learn how to sharpen your kitchen knives from local woodworker Ken Bownes! In this class you'll learn about the mechanics of knife sharpening, then put your knowledge to the test by using a whetstone to sharpen your own kitchen knife. Participants are invited to bring one kitchen knife per person to this class to sharpen. Only straight-edged kitchen knives will work for this class - no serrated knives, please. This program is for adults ages 18+ only. All attendees are required to wrap up their knives and store them in a bag when bringing them into the library building. Remember that transporting knives can be dangerous if done improperly, so please be safe when bringing in knives for class. If you're not sure how to safely store your knife for transportation, please watch this video for help. Participants attempting to carry unprotected knives into the library may be asked to leave the building. Free. Ages 18+ only. Registration is required.
