The Pennsylvania Horse Racing Association (PHRA) will be at the biggest thoroughbred race in Erie at Presque Isle Downs & Casino on Friday, September 19. Races that day will include the $150,000 Presque Isle Mile for three-year-olds and up and $300,000 Grade II Presque Isle Masters stakes for fillies and mares three-years-old and up. New this year will be the $100,000 Fitz Dixon Jr. Memorial Juvenile Stakes and $100,000 Presque Isle Debutante Stakes, both for two-year old fillies over a blazing six and a half furlongs.
The Masters is a key prep race for the Breeders' Cup World Championships taking place in San Diego this fall.
In addition to the thrill of horse racing, attendees can enjoy food trucks and added wagering options. The PHRA will be at Presque Isle Downs with giveaways, sweepstakes, and merchandise for sale.
