GECAC Celebrates 60 Years of Service with Special Anniversary Event
The Greater Erie Community Action Committee (GECAC) is proud to announce its 60th
Anniversary Celebration, marking six decades of empowering individuals, strengthening
families, and building a stronger community. The milestone event will be held on October 30th
at the Bayfront Convention Center bringing together community leaders, partners, supporters,
and neighbors to celebrate GECAC's lasting impact.
GECAC is Erie County's community action agency, dedicated to reducing poverty, supporting
seniors, and helping individuals and families achieve economic stability. Since 1965, GECAC has
provided critical services in
The anniversary celebration will feature keynote speaker Donna Bullock, President and CEO of
Project HOME and former member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, and a special
appearance by the Secretary of Aging, Jason Kavulich. Guests will also have the opportunity to
learn about GECAC's history, honor the legacy of its founders, and hear the organization's vision
for the future.
"For 60 years, GECAC has stood with the people of Erie, helping families build stability, opening
doors of opportunity, and keeping hope alive," said Dr. Ben Wilson, CEO. "This celebration is
not only about honoring our past, but about inspiring the next generation to continue the work
of community action."
The 60th Anniversary Celebration is open to the public, and tickets/sponsorship opportunities
are available. Proceeds will support GECAC's programs that continue to meet the evolving
needs of the community.
