What happens when Erie's community members, professionals, elected officials, and advocates sit in a circle and talk honestly about the things that shape daily life in this city? We're about to find out. The Intersectionality Town Hall & Community Gathering returns for its second year, and this time we're going bigger. Sixteen panelists including the first openly elected transgender official in Pennsylvania history, the first woman appointed to Erie City Council, a Somali refugee turned Erie School Board member, a 12-year Navy veteran and self-taught artist, and the CEO of the largest African American-owned lobbying firm in the state. They will sit center stage at The 10/20 Collective in a stadium-style circular arrangement, surrounded by the audience on all sides. Topics on the table: mental health, housing, banking and financing, small business funding, New American community and immigration, arts and entertainment, civic duties and mid-term elections, and youth involvement. This is not a lecture. It is a conversation, and you are part of it. Audience Q&A is built into the evening. Your voice belongs in the room. Free to attend. Registration required. Hosted by Deonte Cooley and co-moderated by Brandon Wiley, LPC. Media coverage by BlaXcess Media.
