Ruck the Trail 2026 is a community-driven memorial ruck march in Erie, PA that brings veterans, families, and neighbors together for a powerful one-mile walk in honor of those who served. Participants will carry backpacks filled with donated goods that will directly support local veterans through the Liberty House program at the Erie United Methodist Alliance. At the end of the trail, all donations are collected and distributed to veterans in need throughout the community. The trail will be lined with memorial flags honoring veterans, creating a moving visual tribute to service and sacrifice. Community members are invited to dedicate flags, walk the route, and show support. As America approaches its 250th anniversary, this event is a reminder of the values, service, and sacrifice that built our nation—and the ongoing responsibility to care for those who served.
