Join us for the fourth of our very popular "Sacred Spaces" tours led by JES Scholar-in-Residence Dr. Michael E. DeSanctis. This installment will take participants through Temple Anshe Hesed on Zimmerly Road in Millcreek, where we'll meet with Rabbi Rob Morais, before examining the exterior and interior features of First Alliance Church of Erie, less than a half-mile away. The tour will address how places of worship maintained by faith-communities of differing creeds might still share the goal of giving their users access to God's word. The tour will conclude with a brief visit to nearby Laurel Hill Cemetery, where we'll discuss the burial customs of Jews and Christians in a park-like setting marked by beauty and reverence.
Please note that some walking will be required of this limited-capacity tour. Reservations will be honored on a first-come, first-served basis.
