Thursday, June 25, 2026 from 7:30 PM to 9 PM

Internationally recognized, New York City jazz flutist/composer, Sunnyside Records artist and 2014 Guggenheim Fellow, Jamie Baum, brings her "What Times Are These" Tour to Centennial Hall, 145 W. 11th Street, Erie, makes her Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild (MCG) debut on Thursday, June 25, at 7:30 pm.

The flutist will present The Jamie Baum Septet+ featuring Jamie on flutes; Jonathan Finlayson, trumpet; Greg Ward, alto sax; Chris Komer, French horn; Brad Shepik, guitar; Leo Genovese, piano; Ricky Rodriguez, bass; Jeff Hirshfield, drums; Sarah Elizabeth Charles, vocals; and Rich Stein, percussion.

Baum has been listed in Down Beat Critics Polls annually since 1999, has worked and/or recorded with renown and diverse artists ranging from Randy Brecker, Richie Beirach, Roy Hargrove, Paul Motion and John Abercrombie to Louis Cole, Anthony Braxton and Wadada Leo Smith.

The Jamie Baum Septet+ was formed in 1999 and has since produced five highly acclaimed CDs and countless performances at iconic venues and festivals worldwide. Receiving standing ovations at sold-out shows has become the norm for this band, creating excitement and a kaleidoscope of colors with their unusual instrumentation and NYC-style “take no prisoners” energy!

Baum’s seventh album, What Times Are These with The Jamie Baum Septet+ received unparalleled acclaim including a five-star review in Down Beat Jazz Magazine, making several “Best of 2024” lists. For this Baum composed stunning music highlighting the words of renown women poets, reflecting personal losses, their collective experience of Covid-19, and current socio/political climate.
