Those interested in examining the world of wild solitary bees can attend a webinar series offered by Penn State Extension, "The Biology of the Wild Solitary Bees," occurring from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesdays, from Sept. 15 to Nov. 3.

Designed for bee enthusiasts and anyone interested in pollinator conservation, the webinar series will explore the biology, ecology and evolution of solitary bees through accessible, science-based presentations grounded in natural history and current research.

Topics include bee diversity, life cycles, nesting behaviors, mating systems, foraging ecology, plant interactions and the many environmental threats affecting bee populations in a changing world. Margarita López-Uribe, associate professor of entomology, will be exploring these topics with participants as a speaker.

Participants can register for the event by Aug. 15 for an early bird fee of $65, after which the fee will be $75. The registration deadline is Sept. 14. Registration is required to receive the link to access the webinars.

Registrants will receive a link to the recorded webinars within 10 business days after the live event. The recordings will be accessible for six months from the event start.

More information is available on the Penn State Extension website.
