5th Annual Palettes of Waterford Art Auction

Palettes of Waterford Celebrates Five Years of Art, Artists and Community

More than 40 artists and 60 sponsors come together for September 19 Art Auction in historic, downtown Waterford

WATERFORD, PA — September 2026 — What can an artist do with a simple wooden palette? In Waterford, the answer has become an annual celebration of creativity, community and the stories behind the art.

On Saturday, September 19, WECAN Waterford will present the 5th Annual Palettes of Waterford Art Auction at Gazebo Park in downtown Waterford. This year, more than 40 artists will share their work, supported through the generosity of over 60 sponsors who help make the event possible.

The public is invited to Meet the Artists and Preview the Art beginning at 11:00 a.m., followed by the live auction at noon, with auctioneer Carson Chesley.

New for the fifth anniversary, artists are creating palettes offered in five different shapes and sizes, opening the door to an even greater variety of original artwork. From smaller pieces for the home to larger statement art suitable for residential and commercial spaces, the expanded formats give both artists and bidders more possibilities.

And as past Palettes have shown, a wooden palette is simply the starting point. Artists bring their own style, medium and imagination to the project, creating works that range from paintings to dimensional and mixed-media art.

"The wonderful thing about Palettes of Waterford is how many people come together to make it happen," said JoAnne Lenart-Weary of WECAN Waterford. "Not only is the talent amazing, but I love the stories behind the paintings, the human side of art."

The 11:00 a.m. preview gives visitors an opportunity to discover some of those stories firsthand — seeing the artwork up close, meeting participating artists and learning what inspired their pieces before the live bidding begins.

The impact continues well beyond auction day. Proceeds benefit the participating artists, provide scholarships for art students at Fort LeBoeuf High School, (many of whom also participate in Palettes of Waterford) and support ongoing projects benefiting the Waterford community through WECAN Waterford, a local nonprofit organization.

Now in its fifth year, Palettes of Waterford has grown into a celebration of what can happen when artists, students, businesses, sponsors and neighbors come together — creating not only original art, but an investment in the people and community that inspired it.
