Rick Atkinson is a best-selling author, three-time Pulitzer Prize winner, and one of America's foremost military historians. A former Washington Post journalist and editor, he is the author of the acclaimed Revolution Trilogy, including The British Are Coming and The Fate of the Day, as well as the bestselling Liberation Trilogy on World War II. A historical advisor for Ken Burns' PBS series The American Revolution, Atkinson is renowned for combining meticulous research with compelling storytelling. His numerous honors include Pulitzer Prizes for history, national reporting, and public service, the George Polk Award, and the Pritzker Military Library Literature Award for Lifetime Achievement.
