Experience bird banding up close!
Federally-licensed banders will measure and band wild birds on site. Some birds may be presented for guests to see and photograph while EBO volunteers share species details and answer questions. All birds are safely released. All banding is being conducted under a federally authorized Bird Banding Permit issued by the U.S. Geological Survey's Bird Banding Lab.
Banding is weather-dependent and frequently subject to last minute changes. Please check the Erie Bird Observatory Facebook page for any updates the morning of before driving all the way out to Fry's.
Located between the Perry Monument and Beach 11 on Presque Isle, look for our large bird banding sign by the side of the road.
