Learn the Basics of Painting 3D models with the Idea Lab!
Using our 3D printers to print an object is just the first step. Learn what you can do with your model once it comes out of the printer. In this class we will go over how to take your model from a simple plastic piece to a fully finished and painted piece of art. We will teach you how to prepare your model for painting. Then we will go over a few different painting techniques that will add depth and help your colors stand out. We will end the class with a free paint session where folks will be able to spend the remaining class time working on painting their models.
This program is part of Erie Makes 2026.
Free. Registration Required. Each registration will come with one 3D model. Please register for each person painting a model. Ages 12 to adult. The class will take place in the Idea Lab's Community Classroom. Children under 15 must be supervised by a guardian. If you think that you will need extra assistance to complete this project, please bring a support person to help you with this class.
