Coppercreek is a young town built on steel and steam that lacks a traditional dark history, yet it is plagued by a malevolent force known as Silver Jenny that steals children's faces. The protagonist, Bear, is a horror genre expert who recognizes all the classic tropes of a trapped, time-looping folk horror nightmare around her. Despite knowing the immense danger of the situation, she has returned to her childhood home to face the town's unnatural entities and confront the person she left behind and still loves.
