161 New Weekly COVID-19 Cases Reported

In the last week, there have been 161 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Erie County According to the PA Department of Health, more than doubling the previous week's total of 63. Prior to that, the weekly new case count was nearly also doubled, from 32.

Over the last seven days, there has been an average of 23 cases per week.

Erie County's cumulative total now stands at 21,476 total cases and 419 total deaths based on the PA Department of Health data. According to the Erie County Department of Health, there have been 477 deaths. A similar numerical discrepancy has been standard for the majority of the pandemic.  

According to the PA Department of Health, there are 126,670 fully vaccinated residents in Erie County now accounting for nearly 47.6% of the entire population. There are currently 9,855 partially vaccinated residents.

Today, Pennsylvania saw 1,493 additional positive cases reported, for a total of 1,230,454 cumulative cases and 7,064 cases this week.

So far, there have been 27,883 deaths statewide, with 41 deaths this week.

So far, 11,685,368 doses of vaccine have been administered in PA, with 90,074 occurring last week.

According to the CDC, there have been 347,377,149 vaccines administered in the US. 

The US has a total of 35,171,679 total cases, with 590,727 new cases in the last seven days. There have been 78,806 new cases in the last 24 hours.  

The total number of deaths in the US is 611,791, with 3,393 reported in the last week and 392 in the last 24 hours. 

As for updates in our nearby counties, Crawford County has 7,697 positive cases, with 157 deaths. 

McKean County has 3,855 positive cases and 75 deaths. 

Venango County has 4,157 positive cases and 102 deaths. 

Warren County has 2,665 total positive cases, and 106 deaths.
