Captured Tracks
The album cover, featuring various views of the D'Addario brothers’ heads, was designed by Tchotchke bassist Eva Chambers who also provides backing vocals on various tracks.

4/5 stars

If I were tasked to name the most consistent band of the 2020s, that honor would immediately go to The Lemon Twigs – since signing to Captured Tracks in January 2023, the Long Island sibling duo of Brian and Michael D'Addario have been serving up a timeless blend of '60s- and '70s-style power pop. Over their records, the brothers have combined the best qualities of The Beatles, Beach Boys, and Rolling Stones into a package that is instantly recognizable as theirs; dedicating themselves to the craft to such an extent as to forego modern musical sensibilities and record exclusively to 16-track tape. Released in May 2026, The Lemon Twigs' sixth studio album Look For Your Mind! serves as a further refinement of their skills while also taking the opportunity to experiment with their medium. Expanding their recording horizons, the D'Addarios brought in their touring bandmates Danny Ayala and Reza Matin with the goal of capturing the energy of their shows on tape. As a result, the band sounds livelier than ever – sonically raucous with a heavier emphasis on electric guitars throughout songs like the title track and the infectious single "I Just Can't Get Over Losing You." The album contains a dark throughline of heartbroken lyricism, painting the picture of a person lost in the throes of an uncoupling and concluding in the tape effects-laden "Your True Enemy." At this rate, The Lemon Twigs are steadily growing toward the pedigree of their inspirations.
