Best of Erie 2025 is all new and improved. This article is meant to clarify any questions or concerns about the new process which involves two rounds of voting.

We listened to your feedback and we're excited to announce that we are completely revamping and relaunching our Best of Erie voting for 2025! We've streamlined and updated the process to make it easier to vote and make your business more visible to the community.

Welcome to the brand new Best of Erie 2025! We want to hear from you, our Reader readers, about what is the latest and greatest in Erie. Whether it's Best Restaurant, Best Doctor, or even Best Dog Groomer, we want to hear what people, places, and businesses make Erie so unique to YOU.

There are some big changes, so we're providing this landing spot here to clarify any confusion or concerns.

********THERE WILL BE TWO ROUND OF VOTING: NOMINATION AND FINAL VOTING*********

IMPORTANT DATES: Best of Erie will be taking write-in Nominations from Monday, Oct. 20 to Friday, Nov. 14. After that, we'll tally the top nominees and move into the final voting phase!

Best of Erie final voting will start on Monday, Nov. 17. Voters will choose their favorite from the multiple choice options before voting closes Monday, Dec. 15. We'll tabulate the results and announce the winners on Thursday, Jan. 15.

  • The Nomination Period: Right now, nominations are open! You can log in to our Best of Erie page and add your favorite people, places, and things to our list of categories.

  • If you are a business, be sure to register: Businesses or individuals can register themselves so when a user nominates your business, it will auto-populate with your business name. This helps drive nominations for your business which is important because…

  • ONLY THE TOP FIVE VOTE-GETTERS IN THE NOMINATION ROUND WILL BE ON THE FINAL BALLOT: This is different from the way we have done Best Of Erie voting in the past. Previously, if your business was nominated at all, it appeared on the final ballot. In listening to user feedback, folks were feeling overwhelmed by the sheer number of options on the ballot. Our final ballot for voting will only have five businesses (at most) listed. This is why nominations are SUPER important! Make sure your fans nominate your business!

The fine print:

  • You may vote once per category.
  • In the first round, ANY NAME can be written in. The nominees (the top vote-getters) are not revealed until the second round, which voters will choose from.
  • If you are having trouble, you may need to clear your browser cache. Not sure how to do that? Follow instructions here
  • .No ballot stuffing. If we suspect that you obtained your votes unfairly – via third-party vendors or by voting for yourself repeatedly using fake accounts – you'll be disqualified.

We recognize that there may be a learning curve as we all get used to this all new system. If you're confused or having trouble, email stories@eriereader.com and we'll do our best to help you in a timely manner.
