Chestnut Grove Takes Root at the Rook

Chestnut Grove bring their signature vibe and sound to the Kings Rook Club.

Saturday, June 17

In a veritable forest full of bands that have that certain, now-more-popular-than-ever raw/rootsy/earthy/backcountry-tinged sound, Chestnut Grove stands tall — and distinctly noticeable — amid a lot of other trees.

The Pennsylvania-grown quintet has seen its efforts bear fruit since it formed in Perkiomenville, Pa. in 2011, growing a dedicated fanbase and a songbook full of heartfelt, groove-worthy original work.

Chestnut Grove will pull from that pool when they bring their signature vibe and sound to the Kings Rook Club. Local rock/pop/dance quartet The Wildeyes will open and warm up the floor (and all the feet on it) for the evening.

Whether it's inside (which this show is) or out, summer music season in Erie really is the most wonderful time of the year. - Ryan Smith
