Erie's Second Annual Electric Vehicle Car Show comes to Behrend

Saturday, Sept. 14

Penn State Behrend is hosting Erie's Second Annual Electrical Vehicle (EV) Car Show, part of National Drive Electric Week. Plug-in vehicles and electric vehicles are largely better for the environment, reducing dependence on foreign oil compared to traditional (petroleum-only) vehicles. This event is a place for EV owners to talk to each other and those interested in EVs to learn more while exploring the different makes and models on the market. Brands like Chevrolet, BMW, and Tesla will be represented.

Following the event, EV drivers can meet at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center for a drive around Presque Isle. Drivers will be escorted by a park ranger riding an electric motorcycle. The drive will last approximately 50 minutes.

The event is free and fun for all ages. There will be healthy snack foods and drinks as well as various information tables about environmental information. There will be visitor parking on-site as well. Those interested can register at the Drive Electric website. — Chloe Forbes
