Over a two day period, a public hearing will be held regarding the proposed community college in Erie County. In lieu of a traditional public hearing, guests are encouraged to tune in via Zoom technology, to adequately follow social distancing guidelines.

On Wednesday, June 10 and Thursday, June 11, Erie County and Empower Erie will be arguing against the Northerm Pennsylvania Regional College and PA State Senator Joe Scarnati.

Erie County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper will be joined by Director of Administration Gary N. Lee, and the Erie County Community College Committee, in addition to Empower Erie.

"We continue to fight for equity in Erie County," Dahlkemper said in a statement. "The COVID-19 pandemic has further revealed the inequity here locally and highlights the longstanding need for attainable and affordable community college education. Enough is enough. Give Erie County residents what they deserve so our community can thrive and be competitive in the global marketplace."

For more information, and to offer your view on the proposed community college, contact the State Board of Education here.

Here is the schedule and Zoom information as per the PA State Board of Education:
