Erie County Department of Health Reports 13 COVID-19 Deaths This Week

402 new cases were reported as booster totals rise

The PA Health Department has the total number of COVID-19 deaths at 725 with nine occurring this week. The Erie County Department of Health lists a total of 766 deaths, with 13 occurring between Feb. 14 and 20.

There are currently 49 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Erie County, with five requiring the use of ventilators.

As of now, there are 154,535 Erie County residents who have been fully vaccinated (up 497 from last week), with 24,803 having received their first dose (down 187), and 75,382 who have received a booster shot (up 1,486). 

In the last week, there have been 402 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Erie County According to the PA Department of Health, down from last week's 487 cases reported, with 620 the week prior, and 1,416 the week before that. 

Over the last seven days, there has been an average of nearly 58 cases per day (a per-day decrease of more than 12 compared to last week). 

The number of cumulative cases in Erie County is now 56,304, according to both the PA Department of Health. 

This total, of course, does not include individuals who have tested positive via at-home testing kits, and only reflects the numbers of officially reported cases.

State, Local, and National Statistics

Pennsylvania now has 2,749,536 cases of COVID-19, for a weekly increase of 17,681. 

So far, there have been 43,002 deaths statewide, with 339 occurring this week, and 656 last week.

According to the CDC, the US has a total of 78,389,155 cases. There have been 61,359 new cases in the last 24 hours, and 551,462 cases in the last 7 days.

The total number of deaths in the US is 932,894, with 833 in the last 24 hours, and 12,797 in the last week, and 13,494 last week. 

As for updates in our nearby counties, Crawford County has 19,477 positive cases (up 106 since last week), with 303 deaths (up five from last week).

McKean County has 7,949 total positive cases (up 92) and 132 deaths (no additional deaths this week).  

Venango County has 11,066 total positive cases (up 75) and 229 deaths (up one).

Warren County has 7,190 total positive cases (up 65), and 207 deaths (up three).
