Erie County Reports 1,416 Weekly COVID-19 Cases

An average of 202 new cases per day were reported this week

In the last week, there have been 1,416 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Erie County According to the PA Department of Health, down from last week's 1,966 cases reported, with 3,363 the week prior, and 4,162 the week before that. 

Over the last seven days, there has been an average of over 202 cases per day (a per-day decrease of more than 78 compared to last week). 

The number of cumulative cases in Erie County is now 54,788, according to both the state and county Department of Health. 

The PA Health Department has the total number of COVID-19 deaths at 688 with 17 occurring this week. The Erie County Department of Health lists a total of 733 deaths, with 22 occurring this week. 

As of now, there are 152,843 Erie County residents who have been fully vaccinated (up 703 from last week), with 25,005 having received their first dose (down 64), and 73,207 who have received a booster shot (up 2,421).

State, Local, and National Statistics

Pennsylvania now has 2,674,471 cases of COVID-19, for a weekly increase of 69,032 (with 157,856 last week).

So far, there have been 41,028 deaths statewide, with 1,096 occurring this week, and 1,165 last week. 41028

According to the CDC, the US has a total of 75,302,383 cases. There have been 287,114 new cases in the last 24 hours, and 2,908,870cases in the last 7 days.

The total number of deaths in the US is 888,784, with 3,916 in the last 24 hours, and 18,589 in the last week, and 16,965 last week. 

As for updates in our nearby counties, Crawford County has 19,036 positive cases (up 551 since last week), with 285 deaths (up 10 from last week). 

McKean County has 7,723 total positive cases (up 211) and 127 deaths (up two).

Venango County has 10,848 total positive cases (up 802) and 220 deaths (up four). 

Warren County has 6,927 total positive cases (up 578), and 198 deaths (up five).
