Erie County Reports 867 New COVID-19 Cases This Week

Early October appears to be a peak in new cases

In the last week, there have been 867 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Erie County According to the PA Department of Health, with 894 new cases reported the previous week, 972 the week prior, and 1,020 the week before that. 

Two deaths have been reported this week by the PA Dept. of Health, while the Erie County Department of Health reported eight deaths between Oct. 19 and Oct. 26.

As of now, there are 139,430 Erie County residents who have been fully vaccinated, with 12,592 having received their first dose, and 18,229 who have received a booster shot.

Over the last seven days, there has been an average of nearly 124 cases per day.

Erie County's cumulative total now stands at 29,166 total cases.

Today, Pennsylvania saw 5,058 additional positive cases reported, for a total of  1,548,641 cumulative cases.

So far, there have been 31,197 deaths statewide.

So far, 13,665,475 doses of vaccine have been administered in PA.

According to the CDC, there have are 190,857,435 fully vaccinated people in the US, equal to 67.3% of the population age 12 and over.

The US has a total of 45,571,532 total cases. There have been 76,944 new cases in the last 24 hours, and 477,057 cases in the last 7 days.

The total number of deaths in the US is 737,990, with 1,612 in the last 24 hours. 

As for updates in our nearby counties, Crawford County has 10,880 positive cases, with 188 deaths. 

McKean County has 5,120 total positive cases and 89 deaths. 

Venango County has 6,364 total positive cases and 136 deaths. 

Warren County has 4,031 total positive cases and 124 deaths.
