Erie Philharmonic Hosts a Sumptuous Summer Soirée

Concertmaster Ken Johnston and pianist Nathan Hess will preside over a curated selection of audience favorites

Thursday, Jun. 20

As a coda to its 2018-19 season, the Erie Philharmonic is holding its annual gala fundraising event at the Ambassador Conference Center. Maestro Daniel Meyer will handle MC duties as attendees enjoy fine food, musical performances, and an open bar.

Concertmaster Ken Johnston and pianist Nathan Hess will preside over a curated selection of audience favorites, including excerpts from The Nutcracker with The Erie Contemporary Ballet Theatre for a jumpstart on Christmas in July. There will also be a live auction where the highest bidders can take home prizes like a private dinner for eight with Meyer in the Wine Room of the Erie Club; a champagne brunch for 12 in your home with Meyer (with background music supplied by the Philharmonic String Quartet); a VIP evening for eight with the Erie Philharmonic, including pre-concert dinner at Room 33, concert tickets, two encore parking passes, a champagne toast with Meyer, and post-concert desserts; and tickets to a Hamilton show in Chicago with airfare, dinner, and a hotel included.

The Soirée starts at 6 p.m. with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, progressing to salad and entrée courses along with a full Erie Philharmonic pops concert, and then the night wraps up with dessert and coffee cordials with Meyer and the musicians of the Erie Philharmonic. Meal options include grilled beef tenderloin served with a peppercorn demi-glace, whipped potatoes and French green beans, lemon chicken scaloppini with lemon garlic cream sauce, steamed white rice with parsley and seasonal vegetables, and grilled portobello mushrooms layered with Roma tomatoes, grilled zucchini, sliced yellow squash and asparagus topped with mozzarella, fresh chopped basil and homemade red sauce.

Break out your best evening wear and wallets and attend this one-night-only fancy dinner concert. — Madeline Dufala
