Shop Local may just be a trendy act for some, but it's a lifestyle for Kristen Santiago. The newest guest on our long-form interview podcast, Flagship Stories, Santiago owns Gone Local, a store carrying products made in Erie and in the overall Northwest Pennsylvania region. Throughout the conversation, we get into how she purchased Gone Local for $1, how working and living in the pandemic has given her new insight on her mental health, and what the ongoing supply chain issues mean for local business and beyond. Plus, given her wide-ranging city involvement, such as being a board member for the Erie Art Museum and working as a business mentor, the conversation can comfortably cover bigger regional issues.

Stick around for the end, where Kristen, in rapid-fire fashion, builds her personal "Tour of Erie."

The podcast is a collaboration with the Edinboro Beehive. It's hosted by Chris Lantinen, digital media coordinator for the Beehive, and Nick Warren, managing editor here at the Reader. You can listen to the show below via Anchor, or on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, and more platforms.
