Good Vibes: Cecil Rucker Jr. at Artlore Studio

Friday, Nov. 16th

One of the most unique performances gracing Erie this month will be taking place at Artlore Studios. The reason this performance is so unique is that it showcases the abilities of the incredibly talented vibraphonist Cecil Rucker Jr. For those unfamiliar with this particular instrument, it is a member of the percussion family that utilizes tuned metal bars — not entirely unlike a xylophone, in some aspects. Rucker's talents fall in line with a specific vision of the studio's owner and operator, Stephen Trohoske, who spoke about his desire to bring more culture to Erie.

"The reason I think this, and every other [Artlore Studio] show is important, is that we are bringing a high level of art and culture [to Erie]," says Trohoske. "These folks have performed all over the world with some of the most diverse and creative spirits, and that is the kind of message Artlore hopes to bring to our corner of the world." — Aaron Mook
