Monday, June 11

Asbury Woods, one of the Erie area's most celebrated natural gems, will soon ring out not just with birdsong, but with the fine musical stylings of four celebrated local acts over a series of Mondays this summer.

The Monday Music in the Woods program runs monthly, features a variety of melodic genres — from bluegrass and Americana, to folk and country — and will be held in the Otto Behrend Celebration Garden, near the Nature Center. Because the series runs during what might be the dinner hour for some guests, each evening will also have on-hand one of the area's delectable food trucks, like The Big Cheese and the Co-op's Sorc-ERIE, with all their mouth-watering fare for purchase. Seating is up to you, though, so bring your lawn chair or blanket, and if you find you just can't sit still, enjoy the Nature Center's extended hours for these evenings.

If you haven't been to Asbury Woods before, this is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the cooler evening temps and peaceful sylvan backdrop as a blissful complement to masterful song. — Cara Suppa
