Friday, Jun. 7

Heavy metal fans rejoice: Heel Heat Production invites you to a night jam-packed with metal, metalcore, and deathcore artists. Bands Falsifier and VCTMS will stop in Erie on their Iced Out Tour and are set to be joined by other local and semi-local bands. Many of the bands scheduled to play fuse genres such as extreme metal, hardcore punk, and death metal together to create new and intense musical sounds. This show is on track to be unique and fierce — the lineup of artists is sure to thrill any hardcore music enthusiast.

The headliners for the Iced Out Tour, Ontario's Falsifier and Illinois' VCTMS, are both regarded as international metalcore powerhouses. Falsifier is known for its "bone-crushing riffs" and "misanthropic nihilism," while VCTMS blends hardcore metal and hip-hop. Casketmaker and Entheogen, two bands from Pittsburgh, and Closing Remarks from Erie are also playing during this Iced Out stop. Casketmaker specializes in "crushingly heavy breakdowns" and "melodic hooks" that leave fans both refreshed and familiarized with the deathcore genre. Entheogen's music is described as "bold and unique soundscapes" and they are scheduled to release their newest single just days before the show. Closing Remarks is a post-hardcore band that is already gaining traction in Erie's metal scene less than a year after forming.

Enjoy all of these bands and their heavy stylings as the Iced Out Tour makes its way to Erie for one night only; come out to support new local bands and experience established international heavyweights. — Madeline Dufala
