It'll be the 'Bomb': Bombshells and Brews 2019

This retro spin on a brewery event is going to be the bee's knees of pin-up parties

Friday, May 17

What better time than during the course of American Craft Beer Week to observe the second annual Bombshells and Brews at the Brewerie at Union Station?

Speaking to how their event is benefiting the Women In Combat (WINC) organization, the president of Great Lakes Bombshells, Quinn Biscoff, said, "Veterans and pin-ups obviously share a healthy history, and we are thrilled to support the women who dedicate their lives to serve and protect."

The Great Lakes Bombshells, in case you didn't know, are a self-described "social group of like-minded women who enjoy all things pin-up and retro," who are "dedicated to empowering our community locally and globally, with a focus on women's causes," Biscoff said.

And their retro spin on a brewery event is going to be the bee's knees of pin-up parties, with the Brewerie rolling out a new pin-up inspired brew (the seductively titled Forbidden Fruit), guest bombshell bartenders, live music, and a Chinese auction. The door fee even includes hors d' oeuvres to snack on while you sip and strut about in your high heels and stockings (perhaps a pre-party trip to Pointe Foure is in order?).

Now if getting around town in style is your thing, you won't want to miss the opportunity to win the raffle drawing for a pair (yes, two) of Margaritaville Beach Cruiser Bicycles. Consider how that would be the perfect way to tour Presque Isle this summer.

So curl up your hair, apply that ruby red lipstick that makes you feel like Marilyn and slip into "something more comfortable," as Jean Harlow famously purred, because Bombshells and Brews is bringing the sassy glam to your Friday night and to the Erie community at large — all for an amazing cause. — Cara Suppa
