Learn to Lead, Fundraise, and More at Erie's Annual Nonprofit Day

Thursday, Oct. 18th

Next Thursday marks Erie's 18th annual Nonprofit Day, providing a forum for those interested in marketing, networking, and all things in between.

This year, the conference will focus on the aspects of building a thriving organization, including strategic hiring and the benefits of digital media. With 18 years in the field, it's clear Nonprofit Partnership has some tricks up its sleeve, and Member Services Manager Ellen Kehl reflects on how the event has expanded over nearly two decades.

"Nonprofit Day started with just a half dozen sessions and a few dozen attendees, and has since grown into to one of the region's premiere educational programs," says Kehl. "In 2018, we will host between 350 and 400 nonprofit professionals and will provide them with over 20 educational workshops and keynote presentations throughout the day."

All this time, the Nonprofit Partnership has made an effort to stay on track with current trends in order to ensure the event's sustainability and relevancy.

"We have many nonprofit professionals who have been in the sector for years and years – it's important to make sure that Nonprofit Day never becomes stale for them," continues Kehl. "We want our audience to know that they will learn something new with each Nonprofit Day experience."

Outside of the event's primary goal of inspiring new nonprofit organizations around the city, Kehl is hopeful that the event will continue to bring travelers to some of Erie's more elating sights and attractions.

"A healthy nonprofit sector in Erie means a healthier Erie," says Kehl. "In addition, nonprofit professionals, vendors, and sponsors come to Erie from outside the region. Those people get to experience all that Erie has to offer, especially in the beautiful setting of the Bayfront Convention Center."

As for future events, The Nonprofit Partnership has plenty to bring to the table in terms of new formatting, topics, and presenters – even if it must be kept under wraps in the meantime. In the words of Kehl, "There is always room to improve and expand the opportunities for our nonprofit sector to learn and grow."
